File Restore Request

Do you need some files restored from backups by CSD-CF? If so, please fill out the form below. The more information you provide, the faster we'll be able to get your files back.

CSD-CF tries to provide next-business-day service on restores, but big or complicated restores may take longer. Other conditions beyond our control may also delay restores.

Note: When we restore the files, we will not overwrite existing files but create similar file or directory names, like bar.tex.restored.
Your name:
Your email address (user@host):
Your phone number:
Your office number and building:
Please indicate your department or group:

Please list the files or directories you want restored from backups:

(The above should include the full path names of the files to be restored, preferably including the filesystem name, e.g., /robo1/u2/someone/foo/bar.tex. Indicate an entire directory with a trailing slash (.../somedir/). Include any additional comments you want that might help describe the files that you need restored or when they might have been dumped. Note that we do incremental dumps daily, usually overnight.)

How did you come to need the file(s) restored? Did you delete them accidentally or deliberately? Did you overwrite them with other files? Did you do `rm *' or `rm -r *' in the wrong directory? Or what? This info may help us identify the files to be restored.

Name of the computer the files were on:
When were the files last changed, before today?
When were the files deleted (or clobbered)?
About how much disk space do the files use?
How soon do you need the files back?
Any comments you want to add? If you know it, please provide the exact date and time when the versions you want restored were written to the disk and/or the exact size of the file(s). That is, an `ls -l' listing of the files in question before they were deleted or clobbered would be helpful.
